Bob is a Tax and Estate Specialist who joined Virtus Group Saskatoon team in 2013 after retiring from Canada Revenue Agency. He has over 33 years of valuable experience with Canada Revenue Agency. Bob specializes in providing tax and estate planning services for our many professional and entrepreneurial clients. Bob has extensive experience in resolving issues related to trusts and estates, structuring inter vivos and testamentary trusts, planning new trust structures and managing date of death and estate return planning.
Bob began his professional career with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) in 1980. He started with the Audit Division of Revenue Canada auditing small corporations, entrepreneurs, partnerships and trusts. Subsequently, he worked in a variety of departments within CRA including Special Projects (capital dispositions and special elections), Collections, Enquiries (including Ministerial Correspondence), Audit Review and Appeals. In 1988 he transferred into the Estates & Trusts area where he focused his professional expertise for the next 25 years. Bob developed training courses pertaining to estate and will matters and taught these courses for CRA in this area. Bob’s vast experience within CRA make him a great resource for our clients, professional advisors and colleagues when managing trust and estate matters and problem resolution within CRA.
Away from the office, Bob is very involved with Saskatchewan minor sports. He is actively involved with Saskatoon Minor Football and Saskatoon Club Volleyball. When he does have spare time, Bob enjoys spending time with his family and attending his very active teenage twins’ volleyball, baseball, track events.
