Jason Zhao is the Principal of Corporate Finance at Virtus Group Chartered Professional Accountants and Business Advisors LLP in the Regina office. He has over 18 years experience in public practice accounting and industry, specializing in business valuations, litigation support, mergers and acquisitions, private placements, and other business advisory services. Jason has extensive experience working with a variety of clients, ranging from owner managed entities to small and medium businesses and publicly listed corporations.
Jason started his accounting career in Alberta working for an international public accounting firm. There he worked in the audit team providing professional services in assurance and advisory to his clients. He worked with a variety of industries including natural resources, manufacturing, retail, and education. He then moved into the corporate finance team providing valuation and merger & acquisition assistance.
Moving to Saskatchewan in 2008, Jason joined his family’s business raising capital for local projects and companies. In addition working with their own investors to fund local start ups, investing in a variety of businesses including retail, real estate, resources and many others. Jason strongly believes in the strength of local businesses and will continue to help and support our entrepreneurs and companies as they grow and expand.
Graduate from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce, Jason went on to earn his Chartered Professional Accounting designation in 2005 and his Chartered Business Valuators designation in 2008.
An active member in the community, Jason has served on numerous community boards. He is currently the Vice Chair of the Creative Saskatchewan Board and the Past Chair of the Regina Symphony Board.
