Join us for coffee, refreshments, baked goods and two educational sessions geared towards non-profit organizations and charities. Executive directors, board members and staff are all welcome to join. The afternoon will focus on areas of importance to the sector: Board Recruiting and Internal Controls.
Board Recruiting: Finding people who are passionate about your purpose and have the skills your organization needs to move forward can be challenging. We will explore how to define what skills you are looking for, as well as setting expectations and strategies for how you might find those individuals. We will also discuss topics to consider when designing your board orientation process so those new people can get up to speed quickly.
Internal Controls: Internal controls are key to ensuring that financial transactions are appropriate and organizational assets are. We will discuss some basic controls and highlight their importance in preventing fraud.
