James comes to Virtus Group with over 10 years of public practice experience. Growing up in Luseland, Saskatchewan, James learned a lot about the agriculture industry starting at a young age. He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan in 2011. He then gained his CA designation in 2014 after successfully completing the UFE Chartered Accountancy examination.
James’ primary focus is the agricultural industry, where he is proficient in agricultural tax planning, succession planning, financial statement preparation, and both personal and corporate tax planning. In addition to agriculture, James has extensive experience in the manufacturing industry, among others. He has a passion for helping private businesses achieve financial success.
In his spare time, James is involved in the sports community, playing basketball, golf, disc golf and touch football. He is also an avid fan of the Toronto Raptors, Toronto Blue Jays, and of course the Saskatchewan Roughriders. James also enjoys spending time at the lake biking, fishing, and kayaking.
